Annie Jagger Bio

Annie got her start as a stylist in 2001 at NYLON magazine in New York City, where she assisted Nylon's fashion editor, until she began assisting a major stylist in Los Angeles and then went out on her own.  Inspired by classic films and personalities like Edie Sedgwick, as well as French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld, fashion icon Grace Coddington and supermodel Kate Moss, Annie has since developed her signature downtown chic aesthetic, which she describes as feminine with an edge.  Although Annie's work has been featured in media ranging from music videos to red carpet personal appearances, she admits that she most enjoys styling for fashion editorials.

Among the celebrities with whom Annie has worked include Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, Emmy Rossum, Jamie Foxx, Eva Longoria, Woody Harrelson, Amanda Bynes, Laura Dern, Serena Williams, Natasha Bedingfield, Brittany Murphy and Katherine McPhee.  Her work has also been featured in numerous editorials such as W, InStyle, Marie Claire, Jane, People, Gotham and the New York Times.

Insider Styling Tips:
From Harper’s Bazaar
Merchandising Editor, Jane Loddo, and Stylist to the Stars, Annie Jagger, for Eliminating Static Cling During Dry Winter Months and Awards Season.

Stay Warm…and Look Cool:

Jane: When winter hits, I love to break out my chunky sweaters.  However, static is at its peak on dry winter days, which means my hair goes flying when I pull the sweaters over my head.  To eliminate this not-so-chic look, I spray Static Guard® inside my sweaters before putting them on.  If a few fly-a-ways still escape, I lightly mist Static Guard on my brush and run it through my hair.
Jane: Nothing goes better with the season’s dresses than a pair of thick opaque tights—a definite staple in my winter wardrobe.  To keep my dresses in place, I simply spray Static Guard® on my tights after putting them on, preventing any winter wardrobe malfunctions.
Annie: If a case of static cling can quickly take a polished look from fashion-forward to fashion faux pas in a matter of seconds, imagine the repercussions if it occurs on the red carpet!  When styling celebs for awards season, I keep in mind that Static Guard® is the most important accessory, ensuring a crisp and clean look for their big night.  Whether they’re dressed in glamorous gowns or black tuxedos, a little Static Guard goes a long way to keep them looking paparazzi-ready.
Annie: Awards season means it’s time for celebrities to get “glammed” up from head to toe, which leaves us lusting for not only their dresses, but also their hair!  From lots of texture and loose waves to high ponytails, get red-carpet worthy locks by spraying Static Guard® on your brush when styling then finish with hairspray.

Pack and Travel Like a Pro:

Jane: I spend several months each year traveling across the country for Bazaar on Air, Harper’s Bazaar’s televised media tour.  I never leave for a trip without my tote-sized Static Guard® to prevent static cling on and off air.
Jane: I always travel with a small accessories pouch for my undergarments, and once I’ve packed the pouch, I lightly spray the contents with Static Guard® before zipping it closed.  This prevents the items from clinging together during travel and allows me to reach in and grab what I want when I want it—no detangling required!
Annie: Awards season requires me to spend a lot of time on the road shuttling back and forth between various client appointments and events.  I always keep a tote-sized bottle of Static Guard® in my glove compartment for de-clinging clothes when I step out of the vehicle.
Annie: During these cold weather months I like to escape to a warm destination.  Even though the climate is warm, the air can still be dry. Static Guard comes in handy when I want to de-cling my silky sundress or poolside wrap!

Host a Fashionable Fete:

Jane:   After the holidays, I gear up to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my husband and our friends.  This year, we’re inviting everyone over for a pink-and-red themed dinner party.  I plan to set the table with a red tablecloth and a pink runner down the center.  Spraying Static Guard® on the table linens will help keep it all in place.
Jane: To add a little extra love to the table, I plan to sprinkle heart-shaped confetti on the tablecloth.  First, add the confetti to a paper bag and lightly mist with Static Guard®.  Close the bag and shake for a few seconds, then open to allow for drying.  This will keep the confetti in place and prevent my guests from wearing it!  Sparks may fly at my love-fest, but they won’t be caused by static electricity.
Annie:  My favorite velvet tuxedo jacket is a staple in my wardrobe and it happens to be quite fashionable for any soirée. Although it attracts lint and pet hair like no other piece of clothing I have ever owned, I simply spray Static Guard® on my lint brush before using and everything comes off with ease!
Annie:  To set the mood, start your decorating outside the front door of your party by rolling out a red carpet for your guests to enter on.  Spray Static Guard® on the red carpet (and on carpeting throughout your home too!) to prevent shocks when greeting your guests with hugs and handshakes.
